Fits great... Easy install.... Looks awesome...

1. Unbolt OEM bumper.

2. Cut cheesy OEM welds that hold the front mount plates.

3. Remove the mount plates.

4. Take frame spacer and 4.5-inch x ½-inch bolt, using handle on frame spacer insert it in to where the long bolt will pass thru the frame and hold the spacer in place. The spacer allows the long bolt to be torque down tight with out the frame collapsing.

5. Slide the new bumper into place then slightly tight rear longer bolts. You will need a jack stand to hold the front up.

6. Adjust the bumper so that is square and level to front of the Explorer.

7. Drill ½-inch holes in the front mounting area. If bumper is properly adjusted/ fitted the front area mount holes will align themselves in position on the frame.

8. Use the small ½-inch x 1.5-inch long hardware to bolt the bumper to the frame out side area. You will need to place the bolts thru the frame from the inside out so that the nut is on the outside. Then tighten all the bolts to proper torque specifications.

The total install time for this bumper is between 45 to 60 minutes.

Those look damn good Pottsy!

Do you have any made that have been installed or is it still too soon?

Is the plan to cut off the factory bumper mounts and then bolt this to the frame rails? Also, if we wanted to, could we push it back a little further and cut the grill if necessary to get an even better approach? Or do body mounts get in the way?

I may be interested in putting this on my Ex if my approach is still there. I have hit the hitch on some of the taller rocks, and wanted to keep everything pushed back as far as possible when I redid the front for a bumper.

The front frame horns / bumper mounts will get cut off an the bumper will bolt to the frame rails directly. There is a slot in the frame rails that will align the bumper an then 2 more holes for each side will need drilled. Not sure how fare it can be pushed back? Also Im looking to get one of these made pretty directly. I just need a rig yo mount it to an take pictures... If your interested I can make you a hell of a deal on the first one...

Here is the side profile view of the assembly!

Well, a BBP customer wanted this guard kit added to the bumper.... He is providing the 3-inch cent up-right tubes... BBP is bending, notching and providing the 1.5 tubes... This is a "Weld It Yourself Kit"
